Guido Baumann

Guido Baumann (born January 15, 1926 in Romanshorn on Lake Constance ( Switzerland ), † December 23, 1992 in Munich ) was a Swiss journalist .

Life

After studying German , English and theater studies , Baumann made his debut in 1958 as a quiz master with the show Hart auf Hart . He worked for WDR from 1957 to 1962 and for BR from 1962 to 1964 . In 1969 he took over the management of the entertainment department at Radio Zurich within the SRG . In 1973 he was promoted to head of entertainment for German-speaking Swiss television .

However, Guido Baumann gained his greatest popularity as the “guessing fox” in the guessing game What am I? , where he often sensed his professional activity after just a few answers from the guest. The entire guessing team received the Golden Camera in 1967 . After the death of the moderator Robert Lembke tried Baumann, the concept under the title Fair continues at SAT 1 to continue, but what failed.

He was successful as a TV presenter with the quiz Tell the truth in the 1960s and 1970s, as well as with his work as an author and co-producer of the Saturday evening entertainment program Wünsch Dir was presented by Dietmar Schönherr and his wife Vivi Bach , which was in Germany in the early 1970s , Austria and Switzerland.

Baumann was married three times. He died of liver cancer at the age of 66 .
