history

The company was merged in 1997 with the merger of Grundy TV and Fremantle (Deutschland) Fernsehproduktions GmbH to form Pearson Television Deutschland. From August 2001 to August 2013 the producer traded under the name Grundy Light Entertainment. In the course of the UFA rebranding in 2013, Grundy Light Entertainment was renamed UFA Show. UFA Show GmbH was finally merged with UFA Factual GmbH in 2015 and is now called UFA Show & Factual GmbH.

Since September 2010 the company has also been represented in Austria with Grundy Austria GmbH (head office in Vienna). Grundy Light Entertainment has previously worked successfully with various broadcasters in Austria. The opening of Grundy Austria GmbH enables even more intensive cooperation in the production of entertainment formats for all broadcasters in Austria. The name Grundy goes back decades to the Australian Reg Grundy , one of the founders of international entertainment television productions.

UFA Show & Factual is a member of the international producer association FRAPA .

From January 2012 to June 2012 the company also produced the early evening show Gottschalk Live , which was hosted by Thomas Gottschalk .

criticism

Research by the Handelsblatt in 2011 revealed that at least in the context of the production of "Das Supertalent" candidates were harassed with gag contracts, forced to perform soul striptease with the most intimate questionnaires and interview techniques, and appearances were significantly alienated by editing techniques and post-production. Allegations of such manipulation of viewers were repeated, among other things, in an interview with the super talent candidate Ammar with the television criticism TV format .
