Abdelkarim (born October 6, 1981 in Bielefeld , real name Abdelkarim Zemhoute ) is a German - Moroccan comedian , cabaret artist and television presenter . He lives in Duisburg .

Life

Abdelkarim was born the son of Moroccan immigrants. After graduating from high school , he only studied German and Islamic studies for a year and then switched to law . However, he dropped out of college to focus on his comedy career. He made his first appearance in 2007 in the Cologne living room theater . Abdelkarim's program includes his experience with youth culture, secondary school and life as a Moroccan migrant who was born and raised in Bielefeld. This includes the rapeseed scene. According to his own statement, his program Between Ghetto and Teutons is based on his own experiences, which he presents in a humorous way.

Ottfried Fischer said of him in the laudation for winning the Stuttgart Wooden Broom 2012:

“Abdelkarim just looks like stand-up comedy. But when he deals with his everyday life in a humorous way, it becomes political by itself. Because he knows what the joke is about his business, he doesn't need an attitude about it. A broom for the political entertainer Abdelkarim. "

With his first solo program Zwischen Ghetto und Germanen , which was also released on CD in January 2014, he toured Germany until the end of 2016. His follow-up program, with which he has been on tour in Germany since January 2017, has the title Staatsfreund Nr. 1 .

On the way back a shoot on a so-called "hygiene demonstration" against the restrictions during COVID-19 pandemic in Germany on 1 May 2020 Berlin Abdelkarims camera crew was the now-show of about 15 to 20 people in the Roch Street in Berlin- Center attacked. While he was unhurt from running away, four team members were taken to hospital injured and another was slightly injured. Six suspects were arrested, including "police suspicious" people who, according to the Berlin police, belong to the left spectrum . All suspects were released the following day. The State Police Department of the Berlin State Criminal Police Office took over the investigation.
