Stuttgart broom

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Stuttgarter Besen is a cabaret and cabaret competition that has been held annually since 1998 as part of the Stuttgart Cabaret Festival (organized since 1993). The Stuttgart Besen competition is organized by the Stuttgart Renitenztheater , where the event is traditionally held (exception 2008, when the four-hour event took place in the Wagenhallen in Stuttgart's North Station ). The prize money is donated by the City of Stuttgart . The SWR publicly records the competition and presents it on television and radio.

structure

Applicants can apply to the Renitenztheater with a résumé and demo video / DVD. The closing date for entries is the end of November of the previous year. In the first few years, the age limit of the applicant applicants was 35 years, this is no longer a criterion. Both solo artists and ensembles from the fields of cabaret and comedy, music cabaret and chanson as well as poetry slam are invited to apply. The jury will select eight nominees from all submissions, who will present 15 minutes from their program on the evening of the competition. Afterwards, the expert jury will award the Stuttgart brooms in gold, silver and wood and the audience in the hall with a taste for cabarets will award the Gerhard Woyda public broom. The event will be recorded and broadcast by SWR television. From 2011 to 2014 Christoph Sieber moderated the event. The former award winner Florian Schroeder has been leading the evening since 2015 . DJ and musician Andrew Zbik alias Zbikbeat is responsible for the live sound.
