Nadja Maleh (born June 9, 1972 in Vienna ) is an Austrian cabaret artist , actress , singer and director .

Live and act

Nadja Maleh is the daughter of a Syrian doctor and the East Tyrolean psychotherapist Margaretha Maleh, President of Doctors Without Borders Austria . After completing a modern language training at a general secondary school (AHS) in Vienna 19 from 1982 to 1990, she trained as an actor with Michael Mohapp in the GAMES theater school (Graumann Acting Musical Entertainment Studio) at the Graumanntheater in Vienna until 1994 . In 1994 she completed an apprenticeship at the “International Studio for Movement Theater in the Odeon”. Since 1998 she has been taking singing lessons from Olga Kolo-Varla and Michelle Friedmann.

Maleh's first solo program Flugangsthasen celebrated its premiere on March 8, 2007 at the Niedermair cabaret in Vienna , the second stage program is entitled Radio aktiv (premiere: February 4, 2010, Niedermair cabaret). Her third solo program Jackpot premiered on January 24, 2013 in the Wiener Stadtsaal . Since February 10, 2015, Maleh has performed the fourth solo program Placebo (premiere in the backdrop of Vienna ). At the same time, her debut album Songs Vol 1 was released with songs from her cabaret programs. Since early 2016, the cabaret is next to her work as an ensemble member of Grunwald Freitagscomedy of the Bavarian Radio in several television productions, the transmitter Puls 4 and Servus TV to see. On September 27, 2016, the premiere of their revised BEST-OF cabaret program took place in the backdrop of Vienna together with the guitarist Bernd Alfons.

For the album “Come through the year with Machatschek 1”, Nadja Maleh recorded the songs “Sunwendfeia” and “Christmas Waltz” in 2017, which were composed and written by Machatschek .

Together with her band ( Titus Vadon , drums; Bernd Alfanz, guitar; Bernhard Eder, keyboard; Harald Baumgartner , bass) she has been performing in addition to the cabaret programs since April 7, 2018 (premiere at Orpheum Vienna) and a concert program ( Nadja Maleh in concert ) on.

Cabaret Show Characters

“I am many - and they all want to get out” is the basic structure of Maleh's cabaret solos alongside the main topic. In total, she has created over 25 fictional characters for her cabaret programs so far. The most important are:

  • Ramona Krummelanke , Nadja Maleh's oldest figure, has its origins in the Sat.1 weekly show from 2001. With her Saxon accent, “Ramöna” has a place in every solo program. In “Placebo” Ramona also appears for the first time as a clown with magic tricks.
  • The figures of the brilliant Indian girl Mandala , her grandmother Ganga and her husband Murti first appeared in 2007 in "Fear of Flying Bunnies". Mandala speaks English with an Indian accent and is especially remembered for her typical, distinctive smile.
  • The old lady, Ms. Professor Huber , mathematician and physicist, has also been shedding light on the important issues of life with scientific meticulousness and a clever sense of humor since "fear of flying".
  • Leila is a migration helper in a German institute (since she has been afraid of flying), speaks an Arabic accent and uses typical oriental facial expressions and gestures to oppose xenophobia and racism .
  • Aunt Melanie (also: Melanie B. ) is a smart kindergarten teacher with a Burgenland-Styrian accent. The audience forms their “kindergarten” and then mostly a male viewer is the target of Melanie's jokes. This interactive role can be found for the first time in 2010 in "Radioaktiv".
  • The Russian Olga has also been represented since “Radioaktiv” . Among other things, she takes the position that the first woman - "Jeva" - must have been Russian. Because only a Russian woman is able to feel naked and with half an apple in her hand like in paradise.
  • Celine (formerly Claudette ) explains everything about love to the audience with French charm, accent and singing (since "Radioaktiv").
  • The anti-drug street worker and rapper Dragan appears for the first time in 2015 in the latest solo program “Placebo”. He actually speaks perfect German, but has decided to speak in the Balkan accent (orig .: fachkanakisch ) in order to be better understood by the young people. The highlight of his performance is the "neurotransmitta rap".
