Crazy Race 3 - You pick every lock
Crazy Race 3 - They Pick Every Lock is a German comedy from 2007 and the third part of the film series, consisting of Crazy Race and Crazy Race 2 - Why the wall really fell . It was first broadcast on January 5, 2007 on RTL .
action
The master thief Frank Wieland ( Gregor Törzs ), who is at the beginning of his career, is targeting the signet ring of King Ludwig II . But no sooner has he broken into the safe than his role model Kara Moreni ( Katy Karrenbauer ) chases the ring from him. Frank serves six years in prison for this break-in, which gives him enough time to come up with an elaborate plan to get him back the signet ring.
After his release, he is approached by a mysterious client who later reveals himself to be the Bavarian Prime Minister von Dollinger ( Ottfried Fischer ). He offers him five million euros if Frank Wieland brings him the signet ring that is a key to power. However, Frank has by no means free rein to put his plan into practice and to fulfill this mandate. Rather, his pretty but extremely clumsy probation officer Marie von Dollinger ( Marie Rönnebeck ) hardly leaves his side. Since Frank cannot put together a professional team to support Frank for fear of Moreni, he falls back on a motley group of amateurs. This troupe consists of the plump artist Skippy "The Cat" ( Dirk Bach ), the former doctor series actor Max ( Helmut Zierl ) and the agoraphobic computer freak Billy ( Andreas Vitásek ). Furthermore, Lars ( Lars Niedereichholz ) and the blind Ande ( Ande Werner ), two of those who are addicted to betting, offer their services as drivers. The ensemble is rounded off by the cousins Hannes ( Johann König ), Jürgen ( Kalle Pohl ) and Bernie ( Ingolf Lück ), who are known as explosives specialists with dubious skills.
Although they manage to break into Moreni's house, they find out that the thief has since sold the ring again. It is now in Neuschwanstein Castle , which makes theft more difficult due to the security measures there. But since Wieland's client does not give up, he starts the difficult job with his gang of gangsters, who camouflaged as a folk live band creep into the castle. While Skippy rappels down from the ceiling of the hall in which the ring is located, Billy deactivates the alarm system. This is how Wieland succeeds in taking the ring. Again he is surprised by Moreni, who does not allow him the signet ring. This time, however, he can exchange it for a replica, which he leaves to her, so that ultimately everything turns out well for Wieland's group.

reception
TV Spielfilm calls Crazy Race 3 “a completely joke-free TV slam” that is “cruelly flat and totally infantile” . According to Kino.de, this “lively crime comedy” , “compared to the rather simple plot” of the second part, is “downright complex” and also captivates “with an impressive array of well-known contributors” , due to the “possible grotesque similarities to Ocean's Eleven be distorted ” . Admittedly, “the bottom line is that slapstick dominates; but the film is surprisingly funny ” . The verdict of the Lexicon of International Films is: "Third part of a poorly demanding comedy (television) series that is dedicated to liveliness, speed and turbulence."
