life and career

Schaffrath grew up in the Eschweiler district of Pump-Stich . After completing secondary school at the forest school in Eschweiler , she trained as a pediatric nurse at the Bethlehem health center in neighboring Stolberg from 1988 to 1991 . She then worked in this profession for four years and, after moving to Frankfurt am Main , switched to the neuropediatric ward in the local Clementine Children's Hospital for three years .

With her first husband, Schaffrath attended swinger clubs . In addition, she began to work as a hostess at erotic fairs . Her entry into the porn industry took place in 1997 at the Venus erotic fair , where she was made famous by the porn actor Rocco Siffredi . A first contract with the producer Hans Moser took her and her husband to Mallorca . However, due to personal conflicts and contractual discrepancies, the collaboration ended after a few weeks with a financial fiasco for Schaffrath. After returning to Germany, she had more success with the production company Videorama . As part of a campaign by the porn magazine Happy Weekend and first productions with Harry S. Morgan , she quickly became a porn star from January 1999 under the pseudonym Gina Wild . In 1999 she received the Venus Award for Best Newcomer and in 2000 for Best Actress . In December 2000 she withdrew completely from the porn industry. Of the porn films in which she participated, however, there were numerous reprints and new cuts in the next few years. An estimated 800,000 image carriers of porn films with Gina Wild had been sold by 2017 . This sales success is unique in Germany.

Since leaving the porn industry, Schaffrath has been working as an actress, voice actress and presenter. Already in 2000 she played as a supporting actress at the side of Dieter Pfaff , Uwe Ochsenknecht and Ingo Naujoks in the crime comedy Der tote Taucher im Wald . However, even today - long after her retirement - she is one of the most famous German porn actresses. However, she has no marketing rights to her recordings and is therefore no longer making any money with her porn films.
