Shortly before his retirement, Chief Inspector Konrad Hartwich is tasked with solving a bizarre crime, because a jogger has found the charred corpse of a diver in the forest. He is supported by his young successor in office, Tobias Kutschke. One day after the body was found, the aforementioned jogger stumbles over a corpse again, this time a dismembered woman's corpse in a red sports bag. During the investigation, the unequal Hartwich / Kutschke couple have to deal with a whole range of strange guys, all of whom have made themselves suspicious.
