Reinhold Heil (born May 18, 1954 in Schlüchtern , Hessen ) is a German composer , sound engineer , producer , pianist , keyboardist and singer .
Life
Heil attended the Ulrich-von-Hutten-Gymnasium in his hometown. In the 1970s he studied sound engineer at the Hochschule der Künste (HdK, today's name Universität der Künste , UdK) in Berlin. Afterwards he was a musician in five different successful bands and is involved in the music of various projects and musicians.
Heil has lived in California since 1997 and in Downtown Los Angeles since 2010 , where he has set up a studio in which he works. He has two children, born around 1999 and 2001.
He often works with the composer Johnny Klimek . Together they are responsible for the film music of almost all Tom Tykwer films.
