Cosa Rosa

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rosemarie "Rosa" Precht (born May 3, 1952 ; † January 31, 1991 ) was a German songwriter , singer and keyboard player .

Live and act

The trained architect worked for a time in a Berlin planning office. Her great passion, however, was music, especially the keyboard. She separated from her first band Insisters in 1981 because of an offer from the successful German singer Ulla Meinecke . Precht had been Reinhold Heil's friend since 1976 , through whom she met Nina Hagen and all the Spliff members. Spliff drummer Herwig Mitteregger , Ulla Meinecke's producer in 1980, suggested her for Meinecke's band. Heil remained her partner until Precht's death.

In 1982 Precht and Heil founded the Cosa Rosa project . Since it was a "living room project", they only used synthesizers and rhythm machines for the first long-playing record Traumstation . The album received a lot of good reviews, but the extracted title Rosa auf Hawaii could not place in the charts.

Two more albums from Precht and produced by Heil followed. The singles Feelings , A Million Times and In My Arms became minor radio hits. Due to illness, Rosa withdrew from show business in the late 1980s. Rosa Precht died on 31 January 1991 of cancer . She was buried in the grave of her relatives in Walsrode OT Benzen, Lower Saxony .
