Manfred Praeker
Manfred "Manne" Praeker (born September 25, 1951 in Berlin ; † September 17, 2012 there ) was a German music producer , singer and musician. He also played synthesizers and drums , but was best known as a bassist . He became known as a member of the Nina Hagen Band and Spliff .
Live and act
Manfred Praeker had his first successes with the German political rock band Lokomotive Kreuzberg , which he joined in 1973. In 1977 Praeker and Nina Hagen became a couple and the group became the Nina Hagen Band . 1980 came the falling out with Nina Hagen, Manfred Praeker made together with Herwig Mitteregger , Reinhold Heil and Bernhard Potschka as Spliff on.
Spliff became very popular in Germany with the New Deutsche Welle . Her biggest hits were Déjà vu , Carbonara , Das Blech and Heut`Nacht . Bassist Manfred Praeker wrote and sang the title Heut 'Nacht, which, due to its uniqueness, was later covered by other bands and also remixed by new producers. During his time at Spliff, Manfred Praeker was also active as a music producer, guitarist, bassist and singer or background singer. From 1973 to 2012 he produced and worked on songs and albums by Nena , Nina Hagen , Extrabreit , Froon , Die Ärzte and Achim Reichel .
At the end of the 1980s Manfred Praeker lived in Portugal, where he ran his music studio, "Mad Mix Studio", at his place of residence in Monchique until 2005 . Afterwards, various titles and albums by Manfred Praeker and Andy Eder were produced by e @ team®-records Musikverlag (Ibbenbüren) until 2012. From 1973 to 2012 he played bass and guitar in productions of other artists and worked as a producer on music projects such as Bandoo de Jah (2005-2008), BOCK-X on Spliff or Spliff, Bock & Friends (2005-2007), which was performed by well-known musicians like Jan Plewka , Ferris MC , Der Wolf (rapper) , Rolf Stahlhofen was produced under Praeker's direction and his participation as bassist and guitarist. In numerous live and TV productions - including RTL productions such as "Die ultimative Chartshow" - solo productions and releases of his greatest hit, Heut 'Nacht , and his song Heut' Nacht 08 / Heut'Nacht08 were performed. "Heut 'Nacht08" was one of his last personal favorite productions. Manfred Praeker died after a serious illness in the presence of his best friend and long-time manager Andy Eder on September 17th, 2012 in Berlin.
