biography
At the age of nine he founded his first student band Blackfire . Between the ages of 9 and 11, he took on various jobs as a voice actor in the Hamburg studio and once as an actor and screenwriter in Sesamstrasse . The second band, Matsch , followed at the age of 12 . More combos followed, such as B. Boss Barnes , where, among other things, the piece Frogs Never Cry was created, which was later successfully covered by the Schröders . Jan Plewka received his first leading roles as an actor and speaker roles in radio plays and graduated from the technical college for graphics and design.
After marrying his Swedish friend Anna (she was an au pair in Germany at the time), he did civil service as a mobile social helper in Hamburg-Uhlenhorst in 1992 and founded the formation Selig , with whom he signed a record deal with Epic / Sony Music in 1993. Between 1994 and 1997 three albums and the soundtrack for Knockin 'on Heaven's Door were created . In the summer / autumn of 1997 Plewka moved with his wife Anna and their newborn daughter to a remote wooden hut in Sweden - the band Selig was effectively dissolved.
In 1998 Plewka returned to Hamburg. In 2000, the soundtrack for the film Schule with Ralf Goldkind as the producer was recorded, as well as further recordings for his first German solo CD Planes, Bars and Cafés , which was only released in March 2016. In 2001 Plewka teamed up with the composer and guitarist Marco Schmedtje, with whom he retired to Spain for a week and already recorded a raw version of the album At home there was me , which was then produced in Hamburg by Franz Plasa . In the same year he also took on two leading roles in the short films Hansel @ Gretel and So Cheap and became the father of a second daughter. In 2002 his own CD was released, followed by a tour, guest appearances at Keimzeit and Soulounge followed in 2003, as well as the formation of the band Zinoba , in which other former Selig musicians were also involved.
In 2004 Jan Plewka founded the band TempEau together with the actors Marek Harloff and Stephan Eggert . In 2005 the tour Jan Plewka sings Rio Reiser started , which has been repeated since 2007. Jan Plewka started with TempEau in 2006 for Schleswig-Holstein at Stefan Raab's Bundesvision Song Contest and was the opening act for Bela B. His song What has changed you so can also be heard in the credits and on the soundtrack of the film Die Welle .
In August 2008 Jan Plewka's old band Selig reunited .
