Zinoba was a German band that existed from 2003 to 2005 .

history

Zinoba was founded at the end of 2003 by Selig members Jan Plewka (vocals) and Stephan “Stoppel” Eggert (drums). Then there was Marco Schmedtje (guitar). This line-up is featured in the album of the same name, which was released on March 1, 2004 on the Four Music label. The website also mentions Dinesh Ketelsen (guitar), Pablo Escajola (percussion) and Dirk Ritz (bass) as other band members. Schmedtje was previously with Vierwänder and with Niels Frevert . Ketelsen was previously at Nationalgalerie and Fink and was, together with Manfred Faust, producer of the Zinoba album. Escajola was previously with Daddy Deep . Ritz studied jazz and popular music at the music academies in Stuttgart and Hamburg and was a member of Ulla Meinecke's band . He also plays with Brunch , Friends of Carlotta and the UK Skiffle Group .

In 2005 Plewka announced the breakup of the band. Plewka and Eggert founded the band TempEau at the end of 2005 (together with Marek Harloff ) . In the meantime both of them are back at Selig .
