action

The high school student Evi is almost run over by the Bavarian state parliament member of the CSP, Hans Reindl, four days before the state elections. He takes her with him in his car, in which she discovers a pistol. She kidnaps him spontaneously, without knowing why. So she calls up her friend Pit, who is supposed to do something with this situation (Pit is, however, in a relationship with Silvie). Pit reads under " brainwashing " in the dictionary , lays the politician tied up in a bathtub, drips a tap and reads him constantly from a book for anti-nuclear opponents. Later he played cassettes that he had discussed himself. Another friend of Evi's, Johannes, who is called Bond, because he constantly wears martial ties and makes slogans, gets into the confused situation. But he describes himself as a theorist. The youth do not know how to capitalize on the kidnapped politician. On the other hand, he knows exactly. In a rickety dialectic, the kidnapping leads to the fact that he wins the absolute majority in the state elections for the first time. The young people pull themselves out of the affair with a trick after the police started the investigation with Commissioner Egli. The tricks of the politician should become a boomerang for him.

criticism

“Opponent of nuclear power in the fight against the nuclear lobby . Committed political thriller for young people by the "Lindenstrasse" maker. ”(Blickpunkt: Film)

"Wooden dialogues, an inadequately developed script and an uninspired director with a 'missionary' urge to enlighten things about nuclear power quickly rob the intrinsically interesting subject of tension and humor." ( Lexicon of international films )

"The film depicts the confusion and naivety of the kids with fine, loving irony, without commenting on it from the well-meaning head teacher perspective ... Boomerang-Boomerang is ... a refreshingly unpretentious and technically impeccable film whose young actors one would love to see again." ( Frankfurter Rundschau )

“A cute, malicious little political comedy about three teenage nuclear protesters. A film like a small toadstool in the forest. "( Ponkie , evening newspaper )
