Ponkie (actually Ilse Kümpfel-Schliekmann ; born April 16, 1926 in Munich ; † December 30, 2021 there ) was a freelance German journalist and film critic . Her nickname came from her university days when she studied newspaper science and German literature.

Life

From 1956 Ponkie wrote film and television reviews for the feature section of the Munich evening newspaper , as well as essays on film stars and directors. Her snappy and humorous writing style made her known far beyond Munich. In addition to her contributions on television yesterday , Schau zurkritik , Onscreen noted , her column Ponkie sucht fern was particularly popular, where she commented on the television program in a punchy and satirical way. She largely excluded private television in her reviews because it was "too silly and too primitive" for her. In her decades of work as a journalist, she also met many great film stars, such as B. Ingmar Bergman . Ponkie was one of the oldest friends of the actor Helmut Fischer , for whom she got a job as a film critic for the Münchner Abendzeitung in the 1960s .

In Helmut Dietl's social comedy Rossini , the role of the reporter Charlotte was modeled on her.

Her sons are the musicians and composers Uli and Harald Kümpfel. Harald Kümpfel is the husband of the artist Petra Perle .

Ilse Kümpfel-Schliekmann died on December 30, 2021 at the age of 95 in her house in the Munich district of Solln .
