Dieter Olaf Klama

Dieter Olaf Klama (born December 20, 1935 in Hindenburg ) is a German graphic artist and painter .

Life

The difficult to classify artist studied graphics and painting. He became known for his caricatures; his trademark is the use of calligraphy in his works. In 1968 and 1972 Klama twice received the Federal Film Prize , the German Youth Book Prize , the Thessaloniki Film Prize, the Italian Film Prize and the Book Prize of the Frankfurt Book Fair . His studio and city residence was in Munich-Schwabing. He has been working and living in Waal since 2010 . Klama's daughter, to whom he dedicated a book, is a trained restorer.
