Carla Kniestedt

Carla Kniestedt (born May 16, 1960 in Leipzig ) is a journalist and former TV and event host . Since 2019 she has been a member of the Alliance 90 / The Greens in the state parliament of Brandenburg.

Life

Carla Kniestedt grew up in Leipzig. After moving to Berlin , she later returned there and, after graduating from high school, studied from 1978 to 1983 at the journalism section of the Karl Marx University in Leipzig . She then worked for the GDR daily newspaper Neues Deutschland until 1988, before becoming a freelance proofreader for various publishing houses. In 1990 she worked as the press spokeswoman for the Berlin Centrum department store on Alexanderplatz.

From 1993 to 2019 Kniestedt was a television presenter for various public broadcasters (including ORB , MDR ). In rbb -Television she hosted alternately with Ulli cell Saturdays the show Heimatjournal . Here she presented people, landscapes and stories in Berlin and Brandenburg. As the presenter of the early evening journal rbb at 6 , she was regularly on the screen.

After an internal party election in February 2019 at the state party conference of the Brandenburg Greens , she came in eleventh place in the state election in September 2019 . The Greens got 10 seats in the state elections, Kniestedt was initially not in parliament. After the Greens entered into a coalition with the SPD and CDU and the Green faction leaders switched to the government, Kniestedt moved up.

Carla Kniestedt has three children and was temporarily in a relationship with the SPD politician Matthias Platzeck . She lives in Lychen and runs a restaurant and café in a historic mill with her husband, former state and local politician Roland Resch .

Awards

In 1998 she was awarded the Hanns Joachim Friedrichs Prize for television journalism for her television reports (including on the Oderflut 1997 ) .
