Der Wolf (real Jens Albert ; born September 27, 1973 in Lüdinghausen ) is a German rapper and D J.

At the end of the nineties, he celebrated major chart successes with the hits " Doesn't really exist" and " Oh shit - Frau Schmidt" . The following album "Der Wolf - Das Album" also sold well and was able to place itself in the album charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In addition to later other album releases, there were also collaborations with other artists such as the US rapper Big Daddy Kane or the German pop singer and songwriter Cosmo Klein . He is also involved in several musical projects as a DJ.

Live and act

With his debut Das Album (1997) he reached number 16 in the German album charts. Characteristic for the songs is a mostly sampled funk or soul beat, paired with fast rhymes. The couplings don't exist (D 25), which is based on the English Get Down on It by Kool and the Gang , and Oh shit - Frau Schmidt (D 18) became a success. Sasha began his commercial music career with the former , still as a background singer. The song "Be your own hero", also from The Album , appeared again in 2002 on the soundtrack of the US film The Rules of the Game with James van der Beek and was heard in full in one scene.

Der Wolf had its greatest successes in the 90s. In contrast, his album “What should I say”, released in 2000, had only moderate success. In the following years he was increasingly active as a guest rapper and with DJ sets. Der Wolf works as a DJ for the group "The Killergroove Formula", whose comrade-in-arms, NDN, also played on the "Der Wolf" albums. "The Killergroove Formula" landed several top 40 hits on the international DJ charts and has so far released one LP and six singles, including in France and England. Since 2009 he has also been a member of the Dortmund funk rock formation “Higher BuBu”.

For the benefit album " Wir Sind Borussia! ", With which the Borusseum was financed by Borussia Dortmund , among other things , Der Wolf controlled the songs " Shaalaalala Borussia " (with Ede Whiteman & ND) and " Ein Stern " in 2006 in cooperation with his colleagues (with Ede Whiteman) at.

A comeback attempt was planned for 2007. The album " Wolf GTI " announced for the summer of 2007 was postponed several times and was supposed to be released for the last time in 2011, which also failed to materialize. Together with his colleague T-Row, Dr. Instead, Markuse and Commissioner Hellek have published Der Wolf on YouTube and schwatzgelb.de since 2011 analyzes of Borussia Dortmund games, which are underlaid with rap texts.

After the rights to “ Wolf GTI ” had been clarified , Der Wolf founded the record label “Bounty Records” with partners in September 2015 and published a video for the new title “ Der Phrasensmasher ” on YouTube. Ultimately, a single EP was released with the name " Wolf GTI " with an accompanying video. Shortly afterwards, the fourth album was finally released on July 29, 2016 under the title " Turbo Funk ". In 2018 a video for the single EP " Ne, is klar" with Sista Silk was released as a further release .

In 2019 he contributed a feature to the song " Zukomplex " by the Dortmund punk rock band "Die Lieben Löwen". He also appears in the accompanying music video.
