Big Daddy Kane
Big Daddy Kane (born September 10, 1968 in Brooklyn, New York ; real name: Antonio M. Hardy ) is an American rapper . At the beginning of his career he was considered a representative of hardcore rap . Later he let more and more R&B elements flow into his music, so that it was finally part of pop rap .
During his career, Big Daddy Kane worked with artists such as Tupac Shakur , Biz Markie , Marley Marl and Barry White . As a member of the Juice Crew , he wrote lyrics for Roxanne Shanté and Biz Markie, who discovered him.
Big Daddy Kane was a sex symbol and posed for Playgirl and Madonna's illustrated book SEX .
Career
In 1984 Big Daddy Kane Biz met and befriended Markie . He co-wrote several of his songs and joined the Juice Crew , headed by Marley Marl . From its record label Cold Chillin 'Records he was taken in 1987 under contract and published the following year, the 12 " - Single Raw , in the Underground . Was well received very scene His debut album Long Live the Kane followed shortly after The contained therein. Ain't No Half-Steppin ' is considered a classic .
It's a Big Daddy Thing was released in 1989 , for which he collaborated with producer Teddy Riley on the song I Get the Job Done . He also strengthened his image as a womanizer , playboy and sex symbol through Smooth Operator . He followed this path with a duet with Barry White on his 1990 album Taste of Chocolate . His next album, Prince of Darkness, turned out to be even more R&B- heavy, but this made him lose his reputation in hip-hop . In 1993 he wanted to correct this with Looks Like a Job For ... It failed, however, as gangsta rap on the US west coast was now more popular. He then moved to MCA Records and released Daddy's Home there in 1994 . Big Daddy Kane now took a break from music for several years and only appeared again in 1998 with his farewell album Veteranz Day .
Acting
He made his actor debut in Mario van Peeble's 1993 Western Posse - The Revenge of Jessie Lee .
