Cold Chillin 'Records was an American hip-hop - label in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The label was founded by music producer and DJ Marley Marl . The first place of business was Marl's sister's apartment in the Queensbridge public housing estate in Queens , New York City .
Cold Chillin 'was one of the defining labels of the so-called Golden Age of Hip-Hop and the musical home of the Juice Crew around Marley Marl, Biz Markie , Big Daddy Kane and others.
The sub-label Livin 'Large Records existed for a short time. A little later there was a legal dispute between Marl and the label and he was granted the rights to all the songs he had produced for Cold Chillin '. In 1998 the label was closed.
