Marita Lange
Marita Lange (born June 22, 1943 in Halle (Saale) ) is a German athlete and Olympic medalist who was one of the world's best shot putters in the 1960s and 1970s - starting for the GDR . Her greatest achievement is the silver medal at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City .

Marita Lange started for the SC Chemie Halle and trained with Lothar Hinz . In her active days, she was 1.82 m tall and weighed 86 kg. After the end of her sports career, she became a lower school teacher and worked for the Halle district board of the GDR sports association DTSB . After the end of the GDR, she became a clerk at the Disabled and Rehabilitation Sports Association of Saxony-Anhalt and worked as a trainer for the wheelchair athlete Ulrich Iser ( Paralympics participant in Sydney 2004).
