Radoslawa Jankowa Mawrodiewa ( Bulgarian Радослава Мавродиева , English transcription Radoslava Mavrodieva ; born March 13, 1987 in Sliven ) is a Bulgarian shot putter .

Athletic career

Radoslawa Mawrodiewa gained her first international experience at the Junior World Championships 2004 in Grosseto , Italy , where she finished sixth with 15.79 m. The following year she was at the Junior European Championships in Kaunas with 15.72 m fifth. In 2010 she took part in the European Championships in Barcelona for the first time, but retired there with 15.58 m in qualification, as well as the European Indoor Championships in Paris the following year with 15.24 m and the World Championships in Daegu, South Korea, with 15.76 m . In 2012 she did not succeed in a valid attempt at the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul , but was sixth at the European Championships in Helsinki with a width of 18.14 m. So she qualified for the Olympic Games in London , where she was eliminated without a valid attempt in qualification . In 2013 she made it to the finals neither at the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg , nor at the World Championships .

In 2014 she was eliminated from the preliminary round at the World Indoor Championships in Sopot with 16.48 m and qualified for the European Championships in Zurich , where she finished twelfth with 16.98 m. In the 2015 indoor season she secured the bronze medal at the European Indoor Championships in Prague behind the Hungarian Anita Márton and Julija Leanzjuk from Belarus with a shot of 17.83 m . In 2016 she was sixth at the World Indoor Championships in Portland with 18.00 m and finished fifth at the European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam in 2016 with 18.10 m. She participated again in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , but retired there again with 17.20 m in the qualification . In 2017 Mawordiewa won the silver medal behind the Hungarian Martón at the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade with 18.36 m. She also qualified for the World Championships in London , where she surprisingly did not reach the final of the top twelve.

In 2018 she reached 15th place at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham with 16.33 m and placed sixth at the European Championships in Berlin with a width of 18.03 m. In 2019, she surprisingly won the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow , where she beat the German Christina Schwanitz by just one centimeter with a new personal best of 19.12 m .

So far, Mawrodiewa has been Bulgarian champion in outdoor and indoor shot put eight times, as well as in discus throw in 2014. Her younger sister Sheni Mawrodiewa is also active as a shot putter.
