Marianne Adam

Marianne Adam (born September 19, 1951 in Luckenwalde , Teltow-Fläming district, Brandenburg ) is a German athlete who - starting for the GDR - was successful as a shot putter in the 1970s . At the European Championships in 1974 she won the silver medal, at the European Indoor Championships she was once winner (1975), once second (1979) and twice third (1972, 1974).

Marianne Adam was trained by Willi Kühl , who had made a special contribution to the shot putter. With him she went from Luckenwalde to SC Dynamo Berlin . In her competition time she was 1.83 m tall and 85 kg. As a constable of the VP , she was elected to the Berlin city council in November 1971 with the mandate of the FDJ , of which she was a member until 1986.
