Life

Potschka originally learned the piano and cello . He later turned to rock guitar. In 1973 he became a member of the political rock band Lokomotive Kreuzberg in Berlin . There he met Herwig Mitteregger and Manfred Praeker , with whom he formed the Nina Hagen Band in 1977, together with Reinhold Heil , after the group split up and the Spliff band after the separation from Nina Hagen in 1980 .

One year after Spliff was dissolved , Potschka moved to Spain in 1986. Together with Heil, Praeker and Lyndon Connah he founded the group Froon in 1987, which only had a minor hit with Bobby Mugabe and broke up in 1989. Under the name Perxon or Potschka Perxon , he started a rock music project in 1992 with the singer Michael Ernst-Pörksen (hence the band name) and also made flamenco music in the guitar-pura duo . Another stage name of his is Potsch Potschka .

In 1989 he returned to Berlin and set up his own studio there. From then on he worked as a producer and guitarist for various bands and released several solo albums. In 2004 he and Praeker got back together and founded the band Bock auf Spliff with the manager Andy Eder and the musicians Ron Spielman , Peter Stahl, Benny Greb and Minas Suluyan , with which they re-recorded old Spliff songs.

Potschka has lived in Hohen Neuendorf since 2009 .
