Legends is an American crime series produced by Fox 21 for TNT from 2014 to 2015 . The series is based on the English book Legends: A Novel of Dissimulation by Robert Littell . The first broadcast in the United States was on August 13, 2014. In Germany, the series premiered on April 13, 2015 on TNT Serie .
The broadcaster TNT officially canceled the series after two seasons in December 2015.

The series is about FBI agent Martin Odum ( Sean Bean ), who works for the FBI's Deep Cover Operations Task Force and has an incredibly well-developed ability to transform into a different person depending on the assignment. However, his own identity is compromised when a mysterious stranger suggests that he is not who he thinks he is.

Initially, the Fox 21 production studio commissioned a pilot episode. Jeffrey Nachmanoff wrote the script for the pilot episode based on the novel of the same name by Robert Littell . David Semel took over the direction. The first season of the series consists of ten episodes. In December 2014, a second season with ten episodes was ordered.
The second season has been reorganized in its narrative structure. Instead of the strongly "procedural" narrative style of the first season, that is, solving individual cases per episode, the second season tells "serial", that is, with a horizontal narrative structure that dominates the individual episodes. In the second season this takes place on two time levels (now and 15 years before). With this, the character Martin Odum, played by Sean Bean , who supports the series , is worked out more intensely, but also more darkly.
