Ralph William John Brown (born June 18, 1957 in Cambridge , County Cambridgeshire ) is a British actor and screenwriter .

Life

Brown was born to Heather R. and John FW Brown. His better-known roles include drug dealer Danny in Withnail & I , bank robber Ronald Biggs in Buster , Del Preston in Wayne's World 2, and the role of Sergeant Major in Dominion: Exorcist .

In David Fincher's Alien 3 , Brown took on the role of assistant Aaron, who is only called "85" because of his low IQ. He also appeared in George Lucas ' science fiction epic Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace and Steven Spielberg's historical drama Amistad .

As a screenwriter, Brown was responsible for the scripts for the films New Year's Day and Red Light Runners, as well as for the play Sanctuary . This work earned him several awards and nominations. Since 2010 he has been working on the script Fly Me To The Moon , which he intends to direct.

Brown is an avid fan of the Brighton & Hove Albion football club . He is also musically active and a member of the band Brighton Beach Boys , in which he performs with the saxophone .
