action

Technician Adam installs an electronic surveillance system in the home of successful businesswoman Alice Comfort. He falls asleep after work. Comfort speaks to him after they return home and asks him to accompany her to a party. Adam is fascinated by the beautiful woman and agrees. On the sidelines of the party, the two get closer and drive home together through a forest. They overtake a slowly moving vehicle in front of them. Adam, who is still overwhelmed by the beautiful woman, harasses the occupants from the window and they both overtake the vehicle. When the two want to kiss, Alice is distracted and too late sees a deer standing in the street. A collision occurs that injures the animal and damages the vehicle's windshield. Alice asks Adam to pull the deer off the road and use a tool to relieve him of his suffering from the vehicle. At that moment, the vehicle that the two overtook them some time ago stops. Three men get out of the car and beat Adam. He loses sight in the left eye. Then one of the three men raped Alice.

A month later Adam and Alice became a couple. When Alice arrives back at her place of work, she learns from her assistant that a lawyer friend has tried to contact her in the meantime. Alice must learn that her father has passed away and has already been buried. She had hardly any contact with him; he lived in a deserted area outside the city.

Alice goes to the property and spends some time in the building. When she drives home, she meets a group of riders. One of them is the attacker, the seedy widower Heffer. She contacts Adam, who then also drives to Alice's father's house. She tells Adam that Heffer lives only a few kilometers from the property and decides to take revenge on him. Adam agrees to the plan. The two are upset and try to have sex, but Adam turns out to be impotent again .

The following day both sneak up to Heffer's house, which is guarded by a dog. Alice shoots the animal and Adam helps eliminate it. When Heffer calls him and steps out of the house, Alice wants to kill him too, but at the last second she has to realize that he has a daughter. She abandons her plan and they both return to their father's house.

Alice realizes that she needs to learn more about Heffer. She talks to Adam and convinces him to install a video surveillance system in Heffer's house. Adam breaks into Heffer's house and installs the hidden cameras and microphones. When Heffer's two accomplices arrive, he can escape at the last second. He meets Heffer's daughter and reveals to her that her father is responsible for his injuries. Then he and his daughter flee from Heffer. He is put under pressure by his accomplices to finally pay off his debts. Alice also uses video surveillance and realizes the next day that Heffer wants to kill himself with the exhaust fumes from his vehicle. She runs to his house and saves his life at the last minute. Heffer does not recognize Alice and reveals to her that he has done bad things. That evening he was out with his two friends when they picked up his daughter on the way home. The mood was so heated that he had to worry that the two acquaintances would attack his daughter. In order to distract attention from the threatened rape of his daughter, he suggested beating the bullying Adam and rape Alice. While the three men were distracted, his daughter managed to escape from the vehicle unnoticed. Adam has meanwhile also arrived at Heffer's house when the situation escalates. Alice ties Heffer to the kitchen table and also rapes him with her father's gun. She then lets go of him, but Adam now also wants satisfaction. He relies on the legal proposition eye for eye and also stabs Heffer with one eye. Alice flees the situation and drives away in the vehicle. She meets Heffer's daughter on the street. She gets into her vehicle and they both drive to a place where the daughter - according to Alice - "is safe". Adam, however, stays in the house and becomes more and more unscrupulous. The two accomplices appear and are shot by Adam.

Reviews

Derek Elley wrote in Variety magazine on April 30, 2007 that the film " impressively " depicts the mechanisms of revenge. The project, however, is too small to achieve any major impact in theaters; besides, he would lack sympathetic characters. The film has no message about violence or the morality of revenge (“ pic has no message about either random violence or the ethics of revenge ”). Nevertheless, it is effective as a “ dark genre exercise ”.

Stella Papamichael wrote on April 23, 2007 for the BBC that the film was just a pretext for sex and violence scenes. He appears " exploitative and depressing ".

backgrounds

The film was shot in London and a few other locations in England . Its production cost was an estimated 1.8 million pounds sterling . The world premiere took place on April 27, 2007 in Great Britain. In some countries like USA and Canada the film was released directly on DVD.

The title comes from the slang of the British gangs and means people who do not participate in crimes.
