Deran Sarafian (born January 17, 1958 in Los Angeles ) is an Armenian and American actor and director .

In 1985, at the age of 27, he made his directorial debut with the film Alien Predators , which was released on video in the FRG in 1987. In 1994 he landed a commercial success with the action film Deadly Speed . After that, however, he was no longer able to gain a foothold in the cinema business. Sarafian is now one of the most booked television directors. He has, among other things, episodes from television series such as Dr. House , CSI: On the trail of the perpetrators , CSI: NY , Buffy - The Vampire Slayer and Without a Trace - Staged without a trace .

In the 1980s and 1990s, Sarafian also appeared as an actor in a few films. He was seen in Zombie III in 1988 .

Sarafian is the son of actor and film director Richard C. Sarafian and the brother of Tedi Sarafian, Damon B. Sarafian and Richard Sarafian Jr., who are also in the film business. He is also the nephew of director Robert Altman . He is married to the actress Laurie Fortier , with whom he has one child.
