Aisling Franciosi [ ˈæʃlɪŋ fɾanˈt͡ʃɪosɪ ] (born June 6, 1993 in Italy ) is an Italian - Irish actress .
life and career
Aisling Franciosi was born in Italy in 1993 as the daughter of an Italian and an Irish woman and grew up bilingually in English / Italian in Ireland . She studied French and Spanish at Trinity College , Dublin , but switched to acting. In 2012 she made her debut in an episode of the television series Trivia . In German-speaking countries, Aisling Franciosi became known to a wider audience with the role of the teenager Katie Benedetto in the 2015 ZDF crime series The Fall - Death in Belfast . In 2015 she appeared in several episodes of the TV series Legends . In 2018 she played the lead role in Jennifer Kent's historic revenge thriller The Nightingale .
