Steve Harris (born December 3, 1965 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actor .

Life and accomplishments

Harris, son of a bus driver, attended private school and graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in dramaturgy . He then studied at the University of Delaware . The actor made his debut in a minor supporting role in the 1985 action film Don't Mess with My Sister . He starred opposite Wesley Snipes in the 1994 thriller Sugar Hill .

From 1997 to 2004 Harris starred in 166 episodes of the 168-part television series Practice - The Lawyers . That role earned him Emmy nominations in 1999 and 2000 . In 1999, 2000 and 2001 he was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award along with the other participants in the series . In 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005 he was nominated for an Image Award , in 1998, 1999 and 2000 for a Viewers for Quality Television Award and in 2004 for a Prism Award .

In the comedy Diary of a Mad Black Woman (2005) he played one of the bigger roles alongside Kimberly Elise , for which he was nominated for a Black Movie Award in 2005. In the film drama The Unseen from the same year he took on one of the leading roles. In 2008 he played the role of cameraman for television reporter Angela Vidal ( Jennifer Carpenter ) in the horror film Quarantine .
