Johnny Klimek
Johnny Klimek (born August 18, 1962 in Melbourne , Victoria ) is an Australian film composer , music producer and musician .
Life
The mother Luisa Cester was a daughter of the married couple Eugenia and Ernesto Cester and was born on January 29, 1919 in Pasiano di Pordenone . In mid-1940 she left northern Italy for Australia. After the war ended , she married Alfons Klimek and gave birth to eight children. Her younger sister Fanny Cester (1921–1988) was an opera singer and married the cyclist Nino Borsari (1911–1996) in 1940 . The musicians Nic (* 1979) and his brother Chris Cester (* 1981), founder of the rock band Jet , are the sons of John Cester (1959–1996) and related to the Klimek siblings.
After Johnny Klimek came to Berlin from Australia in 1983 , he founded the band The Other Ones here with his twin sister Jayney and his brother Alf .
Early and mid-1990s was Johnny Klimek in the Berlin Trance / Ambient - Techno very active scene. Together with Paul Browse (Ex- Clock DVA ) he realized the projects Effective Force , 030 and System 01 on the Berlin label MFS founded by Mark Reeder . A cooperation with Dr. Moth . During this time, Klimek also co-produced pieces by Paul van Dyk and Gudrun Gut ( Malaria! And Ocean Club ).
In 1996 he was on tour as a bass player with Nina Hagen's band .
After that, Klimek often worked with the composer Reinhold Heil . Their collaboration began in 1997 with the film Winter Sleeper . Together they are responsible for the film music of almost all of Tom Tykwer's films.
The theme music for the television series Without a Trace was written by Johnny Klimek. He also composed the music for 31 episodes of the Deadwood series .
