After the release of Season 2, Netflix announced the end of the series in June 2017. action
Hometowns of the eight main characters |
The story of Sense8 begins when the psychological bond of eight strangers from different cultures and parts of the world is “born” to a woman named Angelica, who kills herself to avoid capture by a man named “Whispers”. The eight finally discover that they form a group of homo sensoria (also called sensates): people who are spiritually and emotionally connected can feel and communicate with one another and share their knowledge, language and skills. They form a cluster whose members can contact each other wherever they are.
In the first season, the eight sensoria Capheus, Sun, Nomi, Kala, Riley, Wolfgang, Lito and Will are shown trying to live their everyday lives and find out how and why they are connected to one another. Meanwhile, a sensorium called Jonas, associated with Angelica, comes to the rescue while the Biological Preservation Organization (BPO) and Whispers, a senior sensorium within the BPO, try to hunt her down.
In the second season, the eight got used to their connection and help each other daily. You will learn more about the Homo Sensoria, the history and goals of BPO, Angelica's role in it, her powers and how to temporarily suspend them. You also meet other sensoria, not all of which are friendly. At the same time, Jonas tries to help them after being caught by Whispers, who is now involved in a cat-and-mouse game with Will, each trying to outsmart the other.
In the series finale, the cluster and the people closest to it meet in person to save Wolfgang, who was captured by the BPO. To this end, the cluster kidnapped Whispers and Jonas in order to use them as a source of negotiation and information. The heroes discover the personal motivations of the two men and Angelica, meet potential allies of Sapiens and Sensorien and negotiate with the BPO Chairman, who launches a global attack against Sensorien and their allies.

In between episodes of heroin-induced loss of consciousness, Will tries to learn more about Whispers and the BPO. Riley takes care of him. Capheus is interviewed by the reporter Zakia and the two develop an affection for each other. Wolfgang and Felix are given a nightclub by a man named Sebastian Fuchs without explanation. Lito's career waned after his outing. Nomi and Amanita go to Chicago to research the evolutionary origins of the Sensates. You learn about a theoretical early humanoid named Homo Sensorium who may have communicated similarly to the Sensates. You will hear a lecture by Dr. Kolovi recognizing a picture of Whispers: a former student of his named Matheson. They also visit Sara Patrell's mother and learn that other Sensates, including Jonas, Angelica and Whispers, visited her after Sara's disappearance. Riley manages to outsmart Whispers, who now thinks she and Will are still in Iceland. However, you are in Amsterdam. Will realizes that Whispers is in London and can visit him while he meets a BPO boss, Richard Wilson Croome.

Will blackmails Croome for a face-to-face meeting. Croome agrees, which annoys Whispers. In South Korea, men dressed as prison guards attempt to murder Sun. She is saved by the inmate Min-jung. Assuming that the men were hired by her brother, she takes the opportunity to escape from prison with Min-jung. Lito loses the role in his next big movie. Felix and Wolfgang visit Fuchs' loft. Fuchs wants them to use their connections to the underworld to prevent a gang war that could hamper Fuchs' immense money laundering venture. Wolfgang learns that Fuchs' partner, Lila Facchini, is also a sensate. Will meets Croome, who claims that it was once BPO's mission to foster relationships between Sensates and humans, but that after September 11th and the War on Terrorism, secrecy and sovereignty became essential, which meant Sensates as a threat to the national security. As a sign of benevolence, Croome gives Will the blocker pills that Whispers also uses. Croome is attacked and killed by Whispers by a lobotomized figure. Since he fails to kill Will, Whispers kills the figure.

Reviews
After viewing the first three episodes, Andreas Borcholte from Spiegel Online found that the Wachowskis “finally find their way back to their old form”. The author suspects that the series format plays into the hands of the rampant ideas of the Wachowskis: “The fact that they now have twelve hours to unfold their panorama of a global society is good for the story. The presumably organizing hand of story supervisor J. Michael Straczynski also ensures that the Wachowskis manage to really delve deeply into their favorite topic of gender identities. ”Even if many questions remain unanswered, the reviewer remains confident:“ Very dubious all that. And of course there are still plenty of opportunities to drive this ambitious thing up against the wall by the end of the season. Wait. For the time being, we are looking forward to the comeback of the Wachowskis with an exciting, socially relevant story and an ensemble of largely unspent series actors. "
