Daryl Christine Hannah (* 3. December 1960 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actress and environmental - activist . Daryl Hannah is the daughter of Donald Christian Hannah, who runs a tug and barge company, and Susan Jeanne Metzger, a film producer and former teacher . Her parents divorced when Daryl was a child; her mother later remarried. Daryl Hannah grew up in a family of eight siblings and half-siblings. As a child, she was suspected of having autism . They also suffered for years under sleep . In addition, she has had a prosthesis on her left index finger since an accident when she was three , but she only wears it temporarily.

At first, Daryl Hannah planned to become a dancer, but then decided to train as an actor. She was able to get information about the world of film from her uncle Haskell Wexler , a two-time Oscar winner in the “ Best Cinematography ” category .

In 2014, Daryl Hannah started a relationship with Neil Young . David Crosby , who was friends with Young's wife, called Hannah a "venomous predator" and later apologized for it. Young did not accept the apology and instead announced that he would never work with Crosby again (see CSNY ).

According to media reports, Hannah and Neil Young are said to have married on August 25, 2018. The marriage was confirmed in November 2018.
