Michaela Haas , from 2001 also Michaela Maxwell (* 1970 in Erding ) is a German journalist , television presenter and author .

Life

Michaela Haas grew up as the daughter of a management consultant and a judicial secretary near Munich. As a schoolgirl she wrote articles for the Erdinger local edition of the Süddeutsche Zeitung from the age of 16 . She completed an apprenticeship at the German School of Journalism as a qualified journalist. At the same time, she studied journalism, philosophy and sociology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 1994 Giovanni di Lorenzo hired her as a reporter for Seite Drei of the Süddeutsche Zeitung. At the end of 1997, she interrupted her work in Germany for a few years to work as a freelance correspondent abroad and to study in Nepal and France. From 2001 she was in front of the camera at WDR and ARD under the name Michaela Maxwell, then again under the name Michaela Haas at Bayerischer Rundfunk. In 2008 she did her PhD in philosophy at the Asian Institute of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelm-Universität Bonn . She lives in Germany near Munich and in Malibu , California.

TV presenter

From 1994 to 1996 Michaela Haas moderated the 90-minute youth discussion program Live from Alabama on Bavarian television .
