Gilbert Adair

Gilbert Adair (born December 29, 1944 in Edinburgh , Scotland , † December 8, 2011 in London ) was a British writer , film critic and columnist , who was best known for his detective novels .

Life

From 1968 to 1980 Adair lived in Paris , then in London. He won the Scott Moncrieff Translator Award for the book A Void , which he translated from French into English. The original title was La Disparition by Georges Perec (Ger. Anton Voyls Fortgang ). Film adaptations
