Frank Griebe (born August 28, 1964 in Hamburg ) is a German cameraman and film director .

Life

After completing his further training at Berlin's State College for Optics and Photo Technology in the late 1980s, Griebe initially worked as a so-called clapper loader (e.g. in 1991 with George Sluizers Utz ) and camera assistant (e.g. in 1992 in Der Demokratie Terrorist ). Later, Griebe u. a. with Sönke Wortmann , Leander Haußmann and Tom Tykwer , for whom he already photographed his early short films Because and Epilog .

In 2003 Frank Griebe was one of the founding members of the German Film Academy .
