Markus Goller (born June 29, 1969 in Munich ) is a German film director and film editor .

Life

Goller began his career as an assistant editor at the Munich film production company, Filmhaus . After two years he became self-employed in 1992 and worked as a freelance editor for feature films , music videos and in advertising , including German and American feature film productions.

In 2002, Goller took over directing the film Mask Under Mask for the first time , which, however, had little commercial success. In 2010 he succeeded with his second directorial work Friendship! with Matthias Schweighöfer, however, a surprise hit that drew around 1.6 million visitors to the cinemas in Germany. Also a very hot number (2011) had more than one million viewers. Mrs. Ella , again with Schweighöfer and Ruth Maria Kubitschek , became number 1 in Germany in 2013. For the movie 25 km / h (2018) Goller worked as a director and for the first time also as a producer.

Goller is married to the director Katja von Garnier .
