Michael Kind (born July 23, 1953 in Halle (Saale) ) is a German actor .

Life

The trained electrician completed his acting training at the "Ernst Busch" Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . In 1982 he began his theater career at renowned theaters. In the course of his previous engagements he played at the Deutsches Theater and also at the Berliner Ensemble under the direction of Heiner Müller . Kind became known to a broad audience through his roles as Oberkommissar Raabe in Police Call 110 and especially from 1997 in the ZDF television series Coast Guard , in which he has played the role of Hermann Gruber as head of the Coast Guard operations center since the second broadcast season .

Michael Kind was married to the Swiss actor Ursula Andermatt and lives in Berlin .

He is a member of the German Film Academy .
