Andreas Morell

Andreas Morell (* in Cologne ) is a German director and author .

Life

Andreas Morell was born in Cologne, but grew up in Stuttgart and on the island of Juist . After school, he began studying at the University of Television and Film in Munich in 1979, which he successfully completed in 1985. In 1984 he went on a year abroad and studied at the Royal College of Art . Shortly before completing his studies, Morell began working as an assistant director at the opera with the directors Peter Werhahn and Peter Mussbach .

Morell has been making feature films and documentaries as well as series since 1986, and in 1995 he also started with theater and opera productions . He has also made countless television recordings of theater, dance and opera performances as well as classical concerts.

Morell was married to the Greenpeace executive member Gabriele Lauermann. Morell currently lives in Berlin .
