All that matters (EEZ) after Gute Zeiten and below us the third soap opera of RTL . It has been broadcast in the evening program since September 4, 2006 and is produced by UFA Serial Drama . The plot of the series takes place in and around food .

background

The production company UFA Serial Drama has been producing the series since May 29, 2006 in the Magic Media Company studios in Cologne-Ossendorf . In April 2014, the interior and exterior scenery of the center was renewed and redesigned for the first time in almost eight years. The finished new set was first seen on July 16, 2014 (episode 1972) in the series.

Originally the soap opera was supposed to start as a telenovela under the title Diana's Dream . However, RTL made a different decision during the shooting.

Since the beginning of the series, figure skating has had a high priority in the series. However, this topic faded into the background in 2012 until it was finally ended for the time being in 2013. From 2013 to 2015, dancing was the focus of the series. In the years 2009 to 2011 boxing and from 2013 to 2014 football was also a treated sport. After dancing had also been canceled, RTL initially announced that there should be no new sport. Figure skating has been the accompanying sport again since October 7, 2015.

In 2014, production entered into a temporary partnership with Garnier .

The daily soap has been broadcast in 16: 9 widescreen format since October 27, 2008 .

Charisma

Since the start of broadcasting, the series has been broadcast Monday through Friday from 7:05 p.m. to 7:40 p.m. Until August 23, 2013, the sequence from the previous evening was repeated between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Due to a realignment of the RTL morning program, these repetitions were initially omitted without replacement. Since April 16, 2019, the repeat of the last episode has been running in the morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The pay TV channel Passion has been showing current episodes since January 1, 2009, as well as the morning episode from the evening program.

In 2008, 400 episodes of the series were sold to France. This has been broadcast there since March 31, 2008. There it bears the title Le rêve de Diana (Diana's dream).

Swell:

Theme song

The title song Never Enough comes from the Austrian singer Christina Stürmer . The title was a number one hit in Austria four months before the start of the series . In Germany, however, it was only released after it was first broadcast. In episodes 1000 and 1001, Christina Stürmer performed her songs Juniherz and Why at Ben and Isabelle's wedding.

Especially at the beginning of the series, the background music was dominated by songs by groups such as Silbermond , Juli , Rosenstolz , Wir sind Helden and Christina Stürmer ; the story of Katja Bergmann was mainly accompanied by music from luxury noise .

All songs that are sung by Ingo Zadek and performed on the ukulele or guitar are composed and written by André Dietz . The songs are always recorded live by him during filming.

Opening credits

Old logo until February 13, 2015 (episode 2117)

The first concept was not a classic soap opening credits, because only three main characters (Diana, Julian and Jenny), around whom the love story revolved, were mentioned by name and moved to the fore. This is due to the series' original concept, a telenovela . A few other main characters could be seen in the background, but many actors were missing, such as Annette, Roman or Axel. The first opening credits remained largely unchanged until episode 328. After Julian died at the end of episode 312, the episode did not contain any opening credits. The opening credits were only changed 17 episodes later. Again three main characters were shown in the foreground (this time Jenny, Oliver and Annette), but the names were removed. In addition, almost all of the other main actors were shown in the background. After the first Jenny actress left, Simone came to the fore in the first scene. At the end of the second and third opening credits, Diana drove past the logo on the ice rink, which was hanging on a gang.

Since January 2011 there has been a completely new concept that now includes all characters. As with Good Times, Bad Times, and Between Us, there are two different versions. Couples, rivals and friends are shown together. In the background you can see scene excerpts and locations (Steinkamp-Zentrum, French fries bar).

At the beginning of 2015, the concept was visually revised slightly, among other things, the logo no longer appears in graffiti style. The new design was used for the first time in episode 2118, broadcast on February 16, 2015.

Logo until August 14, 2018 (episode 2999)

With the 3000th episode, which first aired on August 15, 2018, there was another change: Now the characters are no longer seen in groups, but only individually in front of a red, white or dark blue-gray background and appear more relaxed than before. In addition, the first names of the individual characters are now faded in and the logo was also given a new design, it is no longer written continuously in capital letters.

action

Locations

The soap opera revolves around a settlement in the fictional Essen district of Schotterberg. The focus of the series action is on the intrigues and machinations of the influential Steinkamp family. The central setting of the series is the Steinkamp Center , where many of the main characters work. The snack stand Pommes Schranke is located near the center . There is also the No. 7 of the owner Marian Öztürk, the pump room and until 2019 the Club A40 . Other locations are the Steinkampvilla , as well as some apartments and a shared apartment for the main characters and the ice rink .

Beginnings

At the beginning, the soap opera was more like a telenovela and was heavily focused on the love story of the characters Diana Sommer and Julian Herzog.

Tanja Szewczenko 2007 filming Everything that counts

The 23-year-old Diana Sommer lives with her mother Jutta, her maternal grandfather Lutz Hoffmann, her stepfather Dieter and her step-sister Nina in a working-class district of Essen and works as an inline courier. Her biggest dream is to become a figure skater . But because she receives no support from her parents, she has long since given up her dream. One night, when she was once again secretly doing her laps on the ice rink of the fitness empire Steinkamp, she happened to be observed by the company's head of marketing: Julian Herzog. He discovers her talent and ensures that she is included in the Steinkamps training team. At first glance, Diana falls in love with Julian, who, however, is in a relationship with Jenny Steinkamp - daughter of the group owner and also German runner-up in figure skating. Jennifer Steinkamp sees Diana Sommer as nothing more than a competitor - both in figure skating and in love. Jenny does everything to get rid of her biggest competitor and does not make it easy for Diana with her diabolical intrigues.

Further development

The main role of Diana becomes more and more indistinct until she leaves. The machinations of the Steinkamp family, who use illegal means to save their run-down company, and the drive for power of the controller Dr. Axel Schwarz. Typical elements of a soap opera are also increasingly being expanded, such as time-limited storylines about love stories, the death of Manfred, Oliver's father, by a brain tumor or the kidnapping of Annette by Lena's ex-husband and stalker Robin. The series contains at times tragic elements, for example that the love relationship between the main characters Diana and Julian, which leads continuously to a supposed happy ending, comes to an abrupt end at the altar immediately before the marriage due to Julian's death.

Diana met several men during her further ice skating career, but then left the city to continue training in Halle. In addition to Jenny Steinkamp, Roman Wild, Julietta von Altenburg, Stella Coretti, Deniz Öztürk, Katja Bergmann and Isabelle Reichenbach also train in the ice skating center and live through relationship stories at the same time. Richard and Simone Steinkamp's marriage and the group go through ups and downs. Jenny Steinkamp remains missing for over a year after a plane crash, but after living in Paris under a false identity for a long time, she returns to Essen to donate a kidney to her sister Vanessa.

In 2011 Simone opened a dance school called “Tanzfabrik”, where Marco Schöler and Sarah Wendt dance. That, for series relationships, long-term relationship and marriage of Annette Bergmann and Ingo Zadek, comes to an abrupt end when Annette is hit by Jennifer Steinkamp and dies at the scene of the accident. Dr. After an intrigue on the part of the Steinkamp family, Axel Schwarz had to flee Essen in the summer of 2012. After a long mourning Ingo falls in love with Bea Meyer, who takes over the “Pommes Schranke”, the snack stand from Annette.

In 2013 the “Steinkamp Dance Factory”, a dance academy for professional dancers, will be opened in the dance school. Letizia von Altenburg, Simone's granddaughter, and Julia Meyer, Bea's sister, train there. At the end of January 2015, a dance academy bus crashed, killing almost all of the students. As a result, the "Steinkamp Dance Factory" will be closed. Between 2013 and 2014 Richard Steinkamp also headed the soccer club RSV Schotterberg, in which Can Öztürk and Joscha Degen played, among others. At the beginning of 2014, Jenny Steinkamp gave birth to her first child from an affair with her mother's fiancé, David Degen: Annabelle Steinkamp. With the introduction of the Brück family, flashbacks to the 1990s and the sport of apparatus gymnastics were shown from 2015 .

Since October 2015, figure skaters with Marie Schmidt and Michelle Bauer can be seen again, and the Steinkamps ice rink will also reopen in 2016. In 2016 Diana Sommer comes back to Essen as a trainer. Deniz Öztürk resigns from his job in the “Steinkamp Center” and opens the “Pumpwerk”, a fitness center with a climbing hall, which is located in the former hall of the “Steinkamp Dance Factory”, directly opposite. Since Diana Marie Schmidt trains and Jennifer on the other hand her cousin Michelle Bauer, a new competition between Diana and Jenny arises. In October 2016 Richard and Simone will become grandparents again, as their younger daughter Vanessa and her husband Christoph Lukowski will become parents of little Henry.

In November 2018, the Figure Skating World Championships will be held again in the Steinkamp Center. Marie wins and Diana Sommer leaves Essen to move to Las Vegas . In addition to classic figure skating, freestyle elements are also shown. With Freestyle, the ice show Chronicles of the Cloud City will be developed in 2019 . Marie and Michelle, who was shot during the premiere, can be seen in the main roles.

After the "Pumpwerk" was sold to Isabelle, the "Prunkwerk" boutique opened after renovations at the beginning of 2020 with Lena as managing director. Ben's Club "A40" has to close for good.

Crossover

In several episodes of All that matters found crossover with other RTL serials instead:

In Everything that matters she is under the direction of Dr. Bernhard Üdler, the lender of Steinkamp Sport und Wellness GmbH. At the end of 2010, she was also mentioned in Good Times, Bad Times .
  • In episode 1871 (2014) the characters Bea, Lena and Raquel watch an online cooking video by Anna Weigel, a character from Unter Uns .
  • The character Pia Koch, embodied by Isabell Horn , appeared in good times, bad times and all that counts in parallel from February 2015 until she switched to all that counts in May 2015 .
  • Every now and then, the fictitious social network “explorefriends” , which also plays a role in Unter uns and GZSZ , is mentioned or shown in Alles was haben .

Through guest appearances and crossovers in the context of the other series mentioned, Everything that counts is part of a common series universe of Everything that counts , The Puma - Fighter with a Heart , Good Times, Bad Times , Big City Dreams , Behind Bars - Der Frauenknast , SK-Babies and Unter uns .

So far, RTL has released seven DVDs, two books, a calendar (2011) and a soundtrack of the soap.

Trivia

  • The annual RTL donation marathon is always a theme in the soap. Usually the main characters collect within the story for the fundraiser of the station.
  • As part of special reports, the daily broadcast has already been canceled several times (for example during hurricane Xaver or the crash of MH17 ) or the program was postponed (after a special broadcast about the attack in Munich in 2016 , the daily episode only started at 10 p.m.).
  • Jenny Elvers' series debut in the role of Sylvie Lukowski was canceled a few days beforehand. The recordings made since December 2014 were not used; instead Solveig August took over the role from episode 2122.
