Dennis Durant (* 1970 , real name Dennis Rodney Durant ) is an American - German singer , composer , actor and presenter .

Life

Dennis Durant was born in 1970 in southern Germany , the son of a German and an American . Since 2002 he has lived and worked in his adopted home Hamburg .

Career

He completed his training as an actor at the Badisches Staatstheater in Karlsruhe . In 1992 he started his acting career; Parallel to his engagements at the theater, the native Swabian took on series roles (for both private and public broadcasters ) and parts in various musicals . As a singer and actor he was seen in various TV series and as part of the swing duo "The Sankt Pauli Mad Pack". In October 2002 he followed the call of the Broadway hit " The Lion King " to Hamburg, where he won over two years in the role of "Scar".

Durant processes many personal experiences and feelings in his music. The album or the song "New York's not my home" was created after an emotional reunion with his American father in New York , who had completely broken off contact 22 years earlier at the insistence of his girlfriend. On this CD, among other things, he sings pieces by other composers, especially Jim Croce (1943–1973), his idol since childhood. In addition to his own music, Dennis Durant also produces pieces by other artists with his label, whose potential he values ​​and whom he would like to give a chance to develop further in peace and without pressure.
