Martin Rother (born May 30, 1978 in Düsseldorf ) is a German actor and director .

Martin Rother received his training at " Schauspiel München ", a. a. with Burkhard C. Kosminski and Gisela M. Schmitz. He then played at theaters in German-speaking countries, including the Stuttgart State Theater , Bregenz State Theater , Theater tri-bühne Stuttgart and the Ulm Theater . In his career to date, he has also played a broad spectrum of roles in film and television: from feature films to acted documentaries, television series and short films.

In 2013, Martin Rother founded the production company ROTHER FILMS in Berlin, which primarily produces image films for companies and also feature films.

The feature film Alles Schwul (D 1999, directors: Cornelius Hellge, Martin Rother) was awarded a special prize at the Jufinale in Lower Bavaria. Dancing The World (D 2013) won the Wormland Movie Award 48/90 in the categories of Best Film and Best Actor . His film All Things Pass was shown in the "Official Selection" at the 7th ZEBRA poetry Film Festival 2014 in Berlin and at the 5th International Dance Film Festival Istanbul 2014.
