occupation

Ronny & Klaid is a German comedy film directed by Erkan Acar. The film was shown for the first time on July 4, 2018 at the Munich Film Festival and opened in cinemas nationwide on October 10, 2019.

action

The Berlin buddies Ronny and Khalid, known as Klaid, try to make ends meet with their Kiez kiosk. While Ronny falls head over heels in love with the daughter of the local mafia boss, Klaid loses a fortune at his roulette table. The two only have a week to find the money and pay the gangsters.

On a website they read that one in ten Germans is a millionaire. One thing is clear: only the next ten Späti customers have to be kidnapped. Sounds like an (almost) perfect plan.

Emergence

Ronny & Klaid is an independent production by dropkick pictures & Mavie Films and the independent producer Alexander von Reden. The two companies had already contributed to the surprise success Snow Maiden (2017).

“German comedy? Go then! [...] A true celebration of clichés and over-clichés. "
