The tri-bühne theater is a private drama theater in Stuttgart .

history

In 1975 the theater tri-bühne was founded by Michael and Edith Koerber and Johanna Bäumker as a free group. This played u. a. in the Forum Theater and in the Künstlerhaus Reuchlinstrasse, until in 1979 she was given a permanent venue with a studio stage in the Tagblatt Tower area. From 2003 to 2004 the area was completely rebuilt and expanded to create the "Unterm Turm" house.

Since the renovation, the theater has played two stages in alternating operation: the original stage 2, a black box with a maximum of 109 seats and the new stage 1 with fixed seating for 154 spectators. As a rule, there is free seating in both halls.

repertoire

The tri-bühne theater is a guest in the Schlosshof in Stuttgart: performance of "The Comedy of Errors" in summer 2017. 

The theater has up to 10 productions per season. The repertoire includes the entire spectrum of dramatic literature . Both classical and modern tragedies and comedies as well as experimental pieces are played. Were staged as Sophocles' Antigone , Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors and Rayhanas At my age, I still smoke in secret . In addition, there are dramatizations of epic material and readings on current topics.

At the end of each season, the tri-bühne theater performs a play specially designed for the courtyard in front of the backdrop of the Old Castle in Stuttgart . The open air is held annually as part of the “Stuttgart Cultural Summer”.

Cooperations

One focus of the work of the theater tri-bühne is international cooperation. In 1985 the cooperation with the Katona József Theater in Budapest began . Its artistic director Gábor Zsámbéki staged mainly in the 1990s at the tri-bühne theater. The most recent partnership is with Teatro Avenida , Maputo (Mozambique). Examples of these partnerships are co-productions such as Combative Dreams with the Teatro Avenida , guest performances in Maputo as well as guest directors such as that of Alejandro Quintana Contreras ( Hase Hase , Ay, Carmela ! , Our daily sandwich , Nach mir die Sintflut ) and László Bagossy ( Top Dogs , Mother Courage and Her Children , The Artificial Silk Girl ). Since 1993 the theater tri-bühne has continued to organize the Stuttgart European Theatertreffen (SETT) every two years .

ensemble

The tri-bühne theater has a permanent ensemble . In the 2016/17 season, this consists of the actors Sebastian Huber, Manoel Vinicius Tavares da Silva, Natascha Kuch, Christian Werner and the general manager  Edith Koerber . Guest actors may be added depending on the staging.

Theater workshop

The theater tri-bühne has been offering a theater workshop for young people between the ages of 15 and 25 since autumn 2017. After a year, a separate theater performance is shown. The theater workshop is managed by Manoel Vinicius Tavares da Silva, who also takes care of cooperation offers at schools.

School cooperation

For practical theater work, there is a large number of offers for teachers and school classes, which are usually related to the current repertoire (play talks, visits by school classes, acting workshops and performances at schools, support for theater groups, discounts).

Dance workshop

A dance workshop will be offered under the guidance of actress Pierangela de Rosa Patta. The musical basis is Afro-Brazilian music.

Legal entity and funding

The theater tri-bühne and the SETT are funded by the cultural office of the city of Stuttgart and the Ministry for Science, Research and Art of the State of Baden-Württemberg. The sponsor is the non-profit association "tri-bühne eV".
