Koerber gained stage experience at an early age in Stuttgart through her involvement in the children's choir of the State Theater . She also completed her first degree in Stuttgart, studying drama at the State University for Music and Performing Arts . After a few years she worked as a lecturer there herself . Here she also met her first husband, Michael Koerber, whom she married in 1970. Edith Koerber then studied ballet at the State University for Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main . In the following years she had various engagements in Tübingen , Esslingen am Neckar , Marburg and Moers .

In 1975 she founded the tri-Bühne theater together with Michael Koerber . Started as a free group, the ensemble has had a permanent studio stage in the Stuttgart Tagblatt Tower since 1979 . After the death of her husband in 1982, Koerber and Géza Révay took over the management of the theater, to which she has been married since 1984. Almost all theater productions in the following years were staged by herself. When organizing her theater, she places particular emphasis on the social relevance of the subjects portrayed: “ What is actually the essence of theater, what do we want to achieve? Do we believe that you can change society with pieces? If I no longer believe in it, just think: I have to serve the audience so that the audience has something to laugh about, I should stop. No, we have to make current references on stage and point out what is going on in our society. "
