UFA Serial Drama is a UFA subsidiary based in Potsdam - Babelsberg and a producer of industrially manufactured television formats in Europe. Until 2013 the company was called GrundyUFA TV Produktions GmbH .

The company's core business consists of series that are produced for private and public broadcasters. For this purpose, UFA Serial Drama produces up to 42 minutes of broadcast material per day, which can produce more than 750 hours of fictional programming per year. With Potsdam-Babelsberg, Cologne-Ossendorf and Budapest, UFA Serial Drama has three production sites. The company's managing directors are Joachim Kosack and Markus Brunnemann . Rainer Wemcken was managing director until 2016 .
history
In 1992 GrundyUFA developed Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten ( RTL ), the first daily series for the German television market. The format Unter Uns (RTL) followed in 1994 and Verbotene Liebe ( ARD ) in 1995 . GrundyUFA introduced another daily series format in 2006 with Alles was geht (RTL).
GrundyUFA has been producing the series Barátok Közt (Unter Freunde) in Budapest since 1997. With a market share of around 40%, it is the TV format with the highest market share in Hungary.
In addition to the production of daily series formats, GrundyUFA introduced the telenovela genre in Germany in 2004 and developed productions such as Weg zum Glück ( ZDF from 2004 to 2009 and 2012) and Verliebt in Berlin ( Sat.1 , from 2005 to 2007).

With up to 40 million page impressions per month, the website was awarded the Grimme Online Awards Audience Award by Gute Zeiten - Bad Zeiten in 2004 . In 2008 GrundyUFA developed the Pietshow, the first web series that went online on StudiVZ and was nominated for the International Digital Emmy Award. Season two of the online format started in October 2009 and was also nominated for the International Digital Emmy Award in March 2010.
In addition to Good Times and Bad Times , UFA Serial Drama extends all long-running TV formats to the Internet. To this end, the company develops original content in the form of web series, spin-offs, interactive tools and Facebook groups. These are produced centrally by the in-house digital unit "UFA X".
As part of its social media activities, UFA Serial Drama launched the YouTube channel Verbotene Liebe with content for the series in November 2012 . After the format-lengthening web series Unter Vier Augen ( Everything that counts ), Clarissa's Diary ( Forbidden Love ) and Des Jäger Herz ( Unter Uns ), which was produced by the “digital” team , the web series Because it is love started on December 17, 2012 ... - Marlene & Rebecca on the new YouTube channel.
