Pfaben is connected to the most important hiking and cycling trails in the Steinwald . It is only a few steps from the hiking car park at the information portal into the unspoilt mountain forest. Well-marked hiking trails lead to huge rock formations such as the Zipfeltannenfelsen , the Saubadfelsen and the Reiseneggerfelsen, to the game reserve at the managed forest house and to the Oberpfalzturm on the Platte. The place is near several climbing rocks (robber rocks, bird rocks) in the stone forest. In winter there are around 50 km of groomed trails for cross-country skiing. There is also a ski lift with downhill slopes and a 1.5 km long circuit, which is prepared for classic and free technique (skating). The Steinwald Ski Club offers ski courses. As a self-catering hut , the Steinwaldhütte of the DAV Weiden section is available for groups of all kinds, e.g. B. for family or youth camps, sports groups, family celebrations, seminars and school stays.
