The high Saubadfelsen 858 m above sea level. NHN im Steinwald is a striking rock formation in the Upper Palatinate district of Tirschenreuth . The area has been designated by the Bavarian State Office for the Environment as a rare, important and geoscientifically valuable geotope (377R007) with an area of 200 × 60 m. According to his description, the massive rocks made of fine to medium-grain granite show weathering of wool sacks . At the foot of the formation there is also a block heap .
From the hiking car park in the mountain village of Pfaben ( 715 m above sea level ), a signposted hiking trail leads over the forest-historical nature trail to the Saubadfelsen. To the north of the rock is the Waldhaus ( 822 m above sea level ).
