The Steinwaldhütte is a self-catering hut of the Weiden section of the German Alpine Club in Pfaben , a district of the town of Erbendorf in the Upper Palatinate district of Tirschenreuth .
location
The hut is located on the edge of the forest just outside Pfaben at 701 m . As a self-catering hut, it is available to groups for family or youth camps, sports groups, family celebrations, seminars, school stays. The hut is open all year round by appointment and is only given to one group.
The nearby climbing rocks in the Steinwald can be reached on foot in a few minutes.

history
The location for the hut was selected in May 1965 and the building site was purchased for 5,000 DM by the Weiden section from the landowner, innkeeper Zrenner. Construction began in autumn 1965. The manufacturer Wilhelm Seltmann , among others, contributed to the construction costs totaling 108,000 DM . The inauguration took place on May 23, 1968 in the presence of District Administrator Christian Kreuzer and Weiden Mayor Hans Bauer .
