Unter uns (UU) is a German soap opera . It has been broadcast in the afternoon program of RTL since November 28, 1994, Monday to Friday .
background
Unter uns is the third German daily soap on television after Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten and Marienhof . Since the start in 1994, the series has been broadcast Monday through Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on RTL. The sequence from the previous day from 7:05 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., but from March 2007 to August 23, 2013, was repeated from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Since August 26, 2013, it has been repeated on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Until September 3, 2006, all episodes of the week were repeated on Sundays from around 9:30 a.m., but this was discontinued shortly afterwards due to the everything-that-counts repetitions. On January 4, 2009 the broadcast of the weekly review was resumed on Sunday morning. The weekly review of Super RTL ran from July 5, 2009, but was taken out of the program after two weeks due to the poor audience ratings.
The central location of the series is the fictional Schillerallee 10. Unter Uns , in contrast to Gute Zeiten - Schlechte Zeiten or Forbidden Love, is not based on a foreign soap, but rather reminiscent of Melrose Place with its apartment complex. The Weigel family has lived in Schillerallee since the start of the series. Over time, different families have moved in and out. There is also the rooftop shared apartment with frequently changing residents.
Between us , the production company UFA Serial Drama is produced. From 1994 to July 2000 the film was shot in the MMC studios in Hürth near Cologne , and since then in Cologne-Ossendorf . With the move to the new studio, the layout of all the backdrops was changed, and a permanent outdoor backdrop was built, which was gradually expanded over the years.
In addition to the change of the production studio, there was also a large wave of actors leaving the main cast in 2000, including André Dietz, Thorsten Feller, Isabel Florido, Eric Benz, Arnold Dammann, Diana Staehly and Wolfram Grandezka.
The daily soap has been broadcast in 16: 9 widescreen format since April 28, 2008 , around six months before Good Times, Bad Times and All That Counts .
At the end of 2009, a so-called new era began in the soap opera Unter Uns , which brought a new concept to the series. With the death of the long-standing series character Wolfgang Weigel , the visual and narrative style of the series changed as well as u. a. the official website, the opening credits and the logo. In 2014 the opening credits and the logo were renewed.

occupation
As with most soaps, the main cast can be roughly divided into three age groups: teenagers (playing age approx. 16–20), young adults (playing age approx. 20–30) and the “parent generation” (playing age approx. 35 and up). As a rule, all three age groups are equally served with stories in order to cover the broadest possible audience interest. For the same reason, almost all forms of coexistence are present in the series: from long-lasting marital happiness to blended families to teenage love. In addition, the topic of homosexuality has also been dealt with since 2011.
Cast Notes
Actress Isabell Hertel has been in the series for the longest as Ute Fink. She has played since the 55th episode. Petra Blossey was seen the longest before leaving. She worked from the 1st to the 6151st episode and left the series at her own request in November 2019 after 25 years.
Stephen Dürr played the role of Till Weigel from 1994 to 1996 and is still the only Unter- Uns actor to receive the “Otto” award from the youth magazine BRAVO . However, the actor couldn't cope with his immense popularity and dropped out after two years in the 500th episode. Later he played together with the former Unter-uns- actors Tanja Szewczenko , Tobias Licht and André Dietz in the RTL soap Alles was mit seine .
In spring 2006, passed away many years of sub-us actress Christiane Maybach at the age of 74 years. On the occasion of her death in episode 2912, a memorial service took place in the series, which is still unique in the history of German soap opera. This series of commemorations was broadcast on August 29, 2006. In honor of Christiane Maybach, the pension on Schillerallee, which opened shortly afterwards, was named after her (“Pension Maybach”).
Patrick Müller alias Tobias Lassner and Micki Lassner actress Joy Lee Juana Abiola-Müller , who played a married couple in the series, have been together privately since 2009 and have been married since 2011. The two have a daughter (* 2015) and a son (* 2019) together.
